The Do's

  • Do keep it short and sweet, preferably one or two syllables.
  • Do choose a name with clear vowel sounds, like 'Mimi' or 'Leo', which are easier for cats to hear.
  • Do try it out for a few days to see if it fits your cat and is easy for you to use.

The Don'ts

  • Don't choose a name that sounds like a command (e.g., 'Kit' might sound like 'Sit').
  • Don't pick a name that might be embarrassing to say out loud at the vet's office.
  • Don't use the name of another pet in the household to avoid confusion.

A thoughtful cat name can improve communication and training. Happy naming!
